Autism is a lifelong neurological disorder that affects the social, emotional and sensory systems of a person, often making it painfully difficult for individuals to function in the world around them. In the 1970s, autism occurred in 1 of every 10,000 children in the United States. Today, one in 150 children is on the autism spectrum.
Evening Beneficiaries: Oak Hill School models innovative educational practices, harnessing the power of relationships to inspire social, emotional and intellectual growth in children with autism and other developmental differences. The mission of The Ryder Foundation is to provide funding to organizations that research the environmental causes of autism and
effectively treat afflicted children.
